The Best Is Yet to Come!

The best is yet to come because we’ve weathered the storm, all the stronger for it. Things are looking up. We’re readjusting our course. Soon, we’ll not just be back to normal—we’ll go beyond that to new levels of success!

This past fiscal year, the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UW Foundation has been doing its part—whether it’s social distancing or finding new ways to approach fundraising or spearheading the Pokes Make a Difference campaign that raised $555,448 to directly support students affected by the pandemic.

One way we measure our success is through the amount of support donors like you have given to the University of Wyoming through the UW Foundation. Our endowment, which stands at $794.7 million, is rapidly approaching a billion dollars. This amount far outpaces our sister schools in the Mountain West Conference and approaches the endowments of much larger schools. This is thanks to you, our enthusiastic and loyal donors and friends.

The amount of money raised is one measure of a fundraising organization, and by that standard, the UW Foundation is a resounding success. Another measure of success is the impact that your support is having on the University of Wyoming and its students, faculty, and programs. By this measure, too, the UW Foundation is outpacing its goals. Its tangible impacts such as the number of scholarships awarded or the amount of public-private research partnerships and its intangible impacts such as the quality of life of our students or the very fact that those who otherwise would not be able to attend are able to through distance learning or financial support.

We continue to grow and adapt, walking traditional paths to success yet also adapting to the times and pivoting to digital fundraising techniques. Thank you for all that you do for the UW Foundation and the University of Wyoming.

The best is yet to come, Pokes!
