Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism (NRRT)

Bachelor of Science

The Haub School, in partnership with the College of Business, is working to develop a BS in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism (NRRT). We envision a trans-disciplinary program that incorporates elements of environment, business, human dimensions, recreation, and tourism. We anticipate offering this degree starting fall 2018 pending program approval.

A BS in NRRT from the Haub School will emphasize:

  • Ecological and human communities, with the capacity to provide wise stewardship and conservation of natural resources
  • Tourism and outdoor recreation theories and best practices
  • Entrepreneurial and business management strategies
  • The design, implementation, and evaluation of sustainable and emergent services, experiences, and opportunities
  • Using Wyoming's open spaces, cultural, and natural resources to build outstanding visitor experiences
  • Leading and building diverse, collaborative teams
  • Professional semesters, internships, and intensive operational experiences with NGOs, industry, and government
  • Application and evaluation of ethical, resourceful leadership principles to challenges and solutions within the NRRT industry
