Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Multi-Scale Turbulence Modeling

The Mathematics Department at the University of Wyoming is seeking highly qualified candidates for one post-doctoral research associate position. The position is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension dependent upon the availability of additional funding. The project will start as soon as possible. The project objective is to realize computa-tionally a novel coupling procedure between Large-Eddy Simulation (LES) techniques and statistical modeling approaches based on Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The successful applicant will modify a LES code and apply the new multi-scale turbulence modeling concept in simulations to demonstrate the characteristic features and advantages of this approach.

A doctoral degree in Applied Math, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required. Applicants should have a very good knowledge of C/C++ programming, CFD and turbulence modeling. Knowledge of stochastic simulation methods will be helpful. The salary is $35000 per year plus benefits. The fellowship does not involve teaching responsibilities. Interested applicants should send a CV with a cover letter, three reference contacts, and a summary of recent work. All applications should be submitted electronically.
