Getting Credit:

  • HP 4975: Sign up for 3 credits of this class and your project can be used to meet your WC requirement under the University Studies Program 2003.
  • HP 4976: Register for 1 to 3 credits of upper division credit.  Please note that this course does not meet the COM3 requirement under the University Studies Program 2015.

Funding Possibilities:

  • A&S Independent Study Award. Applications typically due in February.
  • McNair Scholars Program (to prepare first-generation college students or those who come from historically underrepresented populations in their chosen field). Call 766-6189 for more information.
  • Tillman E. and Lucille Boyd Academic Opportunity Scholarship. Honors Program
  • EPSCoR Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Check website later for Spring and Summer deadlines (not yet posted.).
  • American Heritage Center Teaching and Research Grant (if your project involves using the materials in the American Heritage Center.
  • All colleges and many departments have a series of more specialized grants; please check your college and department websites to see if you meet the criteria for any of these.

Basic Hints:

  • A&S Summer Research Grant
  • EPSCor Awards
  • College of Engineering Senior Design Project
  • Many departments will allow students to count their Honors Project for department Honors. Check with both the Department and the Honors Program.
