The Wine website (https://www.winehq.org/) describes Wine as "a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD." All of the previously mentioned options depend on it. You can use Wine directly if that is your preference, however we do not suggest doing this unless you are comfortable working in a terminal window.

The IECM installer is a 32-bit application which installs either the 32- or 64-bit version of the IECM, depending on the environment in which it is run. The installer may work, or you can use the portable version. If you are asked to specify which file is the IECM Interface application, e.g. while creating a shortcut, it is iecmint.exe in the folder where the IECM is installed.
