The Coal parameter screen is only shown for PC plants. The following parameters are shown:
•Fuel Extraction Method: Coal can be extracted by surface mining or underground mining. Surface mining is the default.
•Fuel Transport Method: Coal can be transported by train or slurry pipeline. Train is the default.
•Fuel Extraction: The following parameters specify the water needed for coal extraction:
•Water Withdrawal Factor: This parameter measures the water withdrawal intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal extracted.
•Water Consumption Factor: This parameter measures the water consumption intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal extracted.
•Fuel Processing: The following parameters specify the water needed for coal processing:
•Water Withdrawal Factor: This parameter measures the water withdrawal intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal processed.
•Water Consumption Factor: This parameter measures the water consumption intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal processed.
•Fuel Transport: The following factors specify the water needed for coal transport:
•Water Withdrawal Factor: This parameter measures the water withdrawal intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal transported.
•Water Consumption Factor: This parameter measures the water consumption intensity in gallons of water per ton of coal transported.

This model is currently unaware of fuel blends; it simply uses the properties of the blend. A future update may allow individual fuels in a blend to be configured independently. |

This model does not support biomass. If you are using biomass, there will be a warning highlighted in yellow on this screen and on the result screens. In this case, you will need to override the calculated values on this screen if you want to obtain Fuel Supply results. |
