Ms. Jenkins has represented asylum seekers applying for United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) protection in Cairo, Egypt, and has served as a volunteer attorney for asylum seekers in the U.S. through Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network. She has practiced law in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, and family law, and has served as a Guardian Ad Litem. She is a graduate of the UW College of Law.
Jenkins' passion for international human rights Law began her first year of law school when she received a scholarship to work as an oceans corporate research intern in Bangkok, Thailand. There, she conducted extensive research on slave labor in the Thai fishing industry. Her objective as Robert J. Golten Fellow of International Human Rights, she says, is to share her experience and help facilitate students’ own opportunities in international human rights.
