- About UW
A native of Colorado, Ciara was drawn to Wyoming because of the small atmosphere and big opportunities for her legal education. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison University in 2016 and a Juris Masters in American Legal Studies from Liberty University in 2017, Ciara chose to pursue a law degree to bolster her legal writing and advocacy skills.
With an interest in prosecution work, Ciara opted to become the Student Clinic Director of the Prosecution Assistance Clinic to gain real world legal experience and management experience. She became the student director after having spent the prior spring working in the clinic, as well as gaining experience as the Janet D. Stieger Fellowship with the Wyoming Attorney General's Office, and working as an extern for the Honorable Kelly Rankin in the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming.
While her interests extend beyond criminal law into more transactional legal fields, she has always been interested in legal writing and taken steps to develop her abilities. Additionally she has been a mentor to other law students, and been an active member of both the Federalist Society and Phi Alpha Delta.
Following law school, Ciara hopes to find legal work on the Front Range and continue to develop her skills in legal written advocacy, with the possibility of working in academia later in her career.
