South Shuttle Lot Lighting to be Restored by Nov. 5

Lighting at the UW South Shuttle parking lot at 15th and Spring Creek is scheduled to be up and running by Nov. 5.

Paul Kunkel, director of Transportation and Parking Services, says the lights went dark as a consequence of the demolition of the old Albertsons building. The project's contractor indicates the work necessary to restore the lighting will be completed by Nov. 5.

The South Shuttle parking lot expansion project nearly doubles the available spaces in the lot. The expansion is now open for parking. It is a gravel surface, but a parking grid has been painted to show people where to park.

The additional spaces should provide ample parking for the shuttle riders. This is a temporary solution until complete reconstruction of the lot can occur.
