UW Employee Performance Evaluations

February 4, 2013

The University of Wyoming Presidential Directive, Staff Performance Evaluation and Planning has been updated to reflect the current staff evaluation process.

“Each year, the written performance evaluation marks the final step in the year-long conversation we have with our employees regarding their job performance,” writes UW President Tom Buchanan. “I encourage all supervisors to complete the required performance evaluations within the specified time frame. This is a critical process for our employees and their success at UW.”

He emphasizes this evaluation is crucial in the direction and the support UW provides for the continued development of its employees.

“Along with the performance goals that are set for the coming year, the assessment of each employee’s job performance is one of the most important responsibilities we have as supervisors and forms the basis for our merit-based evaluation system.”

Presidential Directive 4-2010-2 can be found here.

Most of the updates to the directive are minor, but one change of note is that staff performance evaluations are now due March 31, rather than the former deadline of March 15.
