Exhibition Living Fossils to Open in UW Gallery 234 March 28

University of Wyoming art student René Williams’ exhibition, “Living Fossils,” will be on display Monday, March 28-Thursday, April 14, in Gallery 234, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.

A reception for the exhibition is scheduled Friday, April 1, from 5-7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Williams is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She praises her international explorations as the muse for much of her artwork.

“My art is abstract, authentic, contemporary, unique, simple and organic,” Williams states on her website. “My art concept continues to evolve by merging architecture’s materials and textures with the botanical and organic materials and features.”

Her new partnership with “Science Loves Art” has provided opportunities for Williams to tie her artwork into science. She has created abstract work for this exhibition using actual fossils that she and her collaborators have collected throughout Wyoming.
