Two reggae-folk bands will perform at the University of Wyoming Wednesday, March 9, at 8 p.m. in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.
The free concert will feature bands Satsang and Na’an Stop. Sponsored by the UW Student Activities Council, the concert is open to the public.
The trio Satsang, from Red Lodge, Mont., will play a mixture of reggae, folk and hip-hop. The band’s sound is made up of vocals, guitar, bass, keys and drums.
“Their music touches on everything from the bliss of traveling and the growing pains of change, to the ills of the justice system and environmental encroachment,” according to the band’s website.
The band has toured throughout the U.S. and has shared the stage with artists such as Steel Pulse and Trevor Hall.
For more information about Satsang, visit www.satsangmovement.com or like the band on Facebook.
The second band scheduled to perform is Colorado-based Na’an Stop, composed of five musicians. Their music features a blend of reggae, rock, hip-hop, dub and ska.
“The truth is, we simply love playing music,” the band says on its website.
