Donate Food and Have Parking Fines Reduced at UW

People who have unpaid parking citations of less than $31.50 at the University of Wyoming can have their fines reduced by donating nonperishable items for a holiday food drive.

UW Transit and Parking Services’ “Food for Fines” program is underway through Friday, Dec. 16. Customers can bring in two nonperishable food donations and receive a 30 percent discount on fines. Customers with multiple violations may participate as many as three times, but must bring two items each time when paying the balance of their fines.

All donations received by Transit and Parking Services will be donated to the UW Staff Senate Holiday Food Drive. Expired or opened nonperishable food donations will not be accepted.

“Please be considerate when selecting donation items,” says Rachel Wagner, Transit and Parking Services marketing coordinator. “Transit and Parking Services reserves the right to revoke a customer’s participation in this program at any time.”
