University of Wyoming Calendar for June 19

These are among the activities scheduled June 19-25 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, June 20, 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “From the Summer Solstice to the Solar Eclipse.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Tuesday, June 20, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. -- A variety of activities will take place during the UW Art Museum’s annual summer solstice celebration. Free.

Tuesday, June 20, 1:30 p.m. -- The first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony for the Total Eclipse of the Sun Forever stamp will take place at the UW Art Museum. Free.

Tuesday, June 20, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “IBEX: The Search for the Edge of the Solar System.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Wednesday, June 21, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Wynona, a Laramie indie rock band, will perform for the UW Summer Programs concert series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, June 23-Saturday, June 24, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 25, 2 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theatre and Dance presents “The Fantasticks” in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Thrust Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for students, senior citizens and children age 5 and older. Friday, June 23, 7:30 p.m. -- Boston Brass, world-renowned musicians and recording artists, will perform in the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased by calling (307) 766-6666, going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts, or by visiting the Performing Arts box office.

Friday, June 23, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Astronomy and Math.” A free STAR Observatory tour (weather dependent) follows at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Saturday, June 24, 11 a.m. -- The Boston Brass Summer Intensive festival concert will take place in the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Saturday, June 24, 11 a.m. -- Planetarium show, “As Seen from Laramie.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
