Adaptation:
Tall wheatgrass is long-lived perennial bunchgrass that grows 3 to 10 feet tall.

Growth Habitat:
Bunchgrass that is one of the most tolerant to saline or alkali. 12 to 14 inches of precipitation are best.

 

Plant Characteristics:
The leaves are green to bluish, with flat to curling blades. The blades are often hairy which makes them scratchy to touch.

Important Identifying Characteristics:
The spikelets and the four to ten enclosed seeds grow away from the stem like a sickle. Long, coarse light green basal leaves. Spikelets do not overlap.

 

Primary Uses:
