Description of Technology:

This technology is a method for isolating the genetic sequences from spiders that are used to make the biological proteins in the glue. The result is 100% natural spider glue.

Applications:

Spider Glue has applications in medical, technical and commercial fields. Spider glue can be used to treat wounds in humans and is non-allergenic. Additionally, spider glue can be used in nanotechnology to stick and fix micro- and nano- structures like DNA strands and protein threads.

Features and Benefits:

Spider Silk Web Glue Proteins provide an environmentally-friendly, biological alternative to synthetic adhesives. This technology is also an easier and less expensive alternative to other bio-glues currently in commercial development (such as those derived from mussels).
