Employee of the Quarter Nomination Form

In order for the committee to review nominees without bias, please do not refer to the nominee’s name, position or department in the examples. Pronouns such as he, she or they are acceptable. Please provide short descriptive paragraphs. Include any relevant contributions or achievements in your explanations.  Please include concrete examples in your paragraphs.

The winner will be submitted for the University of Wyoming’s Employee of the Quarter.

Below is the criteria for the RLDS Employee of the Quarter nominee. Please review the criteria and fill out the form accordingly. The nominating form is located below the criteria.


  • The nominee works exceptionally well with others in order to achieve a common goal. The nominee went above and beyond to demonstrate the true meaning of collaboration and teamwork.
  • Collaboration can be with a student, another employee or a department. The student, employees or departments may be within RLDS, within UW or within the Laramie community.
  • Criteria include:
    • Working together to complete a project or goal.
    • Demonstrating positive behavior and reflecting a good image for RLDS
    • Embracing the One University concept

Adaptability/Positive Attitude

  • The nominee adjusts to any change in duties, procedures, supervisors or work environment. The nominee accepts new ideas and approaches to work, respond appropriately to constructive criticism and to suggestions for work improvement.
  • Criteria include:
    • Having a positive attitude while working with customers/coworkers.
    • Embraces change in duties, procedures, supervisors or work environment.
    • Consistently responds appropriately to constructive criticism, using it to promote effective and innovative changes in work results.

New Idea/Initiative

  • The nominee thinks and operates creatively.  Seeks out new responsibilities; acts on opportunities. Has significant impact in creating breakthrough products or services that fulfill an institutional need                                    
  • Criteria Include:
    • Generates new and progressive ideas; appropriately challenges the status quo
    • Takes responsibility and informed risks
    • Supports and fosters change; encourages and rewards innovative practices
    • Solves problems creatively and independently

Creating Extraordinary Student Experiences

  • The nominee demonstrates a significant commitment to serving students needs in their department or area on a continuing basis.
  • Criteria include:
    • Going the extra mile through service to students above and beyond the call of duty
    • Creating an environment that allows students to feel comfortable and safe and allows them to be academically successful
    • Implementation of projects or processes that enhance the student experience o Responding to student needs in a consistent and effective manner 

Analysis/Assessment/ Problem Solving

  • The nominee builds a logical approach to address problems and/or manage the situation at hand by drawing on one's knowledge and experience, calling on other references and resources as necessary 
  • Criteria include:
    • Undertakes a complex task by breaking it down into manageable parts in a systematic and detailed manner utilizing critical thinking and analysis
    • Thinks of several possible explanations or alternatives for a situation, anticipates potential obstacles, and develops contingency plans to overcome them
    • Identifies the information needed to solve problems effectively and communicate outcomes
    • Presents problem analysis with recommended solutions, rather than simply describing the problem 

Inspiring Others

  • The nominee establishes the vision, strategic directions and high performance culture within his/her area of responsibility and exhibits the ability to build trust, influence outcomes, and inspire others to effectively deliver results that positively impact the institution
  • Criteria include:
    • Facilitates the process of co-creating and communicating a vision and strategy that supports institutional goals and priorities with measurable results
    • Develops self and others; fosters a culture of mutual respect, continuous learning, innovation and focus on results
    • Continuously scans the environment and makes adjustments to strategy and organizational direction as appropriate; effectively navigates through change and transformation cycles
    • Supports, communicates and embodies institutional values, vision and strategic priorities
    • Leads by example
