Graduate Residence Coordinator (GRC)

Position Summary

The department of Residence Life and Dining Services is seeking highly motivated individuals to be part of an energetic and dynamic Residence Education team! The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of residence life and community living, conflict management, and scheduling; experience in student programming; and the desire to build community through regular interactions with both Resident Assistants (RAs) and residents.

The GRC position is a 19-hour per week live-in position. GRCs are full-time graduate students assisting in the management of a residence hall. GRCs live in the residence halls and aid in the development and supervision of student staff members, provide leadership to hall programming, manage operations of a 24-hour front desk, serve on Departmental committees, advise hall governance, serve in an on-call duty rotation, and build a dynamic living learning community for residents in the hall. 

Terms of Employment

The GRC position is a 10-month, live-in position. GRCs must be full-time graduate students enrolled in 9 credit hours. While in the position, an overall and cumulative semester GPA of 3.0 is required each semester; a 2.0 GPA is required for both law and pharmacy students.



A furnished room within a Residence Hall will be provided. Furnishings include: a queen sized bed, micro-fridge, dresser, desk, and private bathroom. Additionally, an unlimited meal plan – while the Dining Center is in operation – and a parking permit is provided to GRCs.

Employment Dates

August 1, 2016 through May 19, 2017.

Additional employment may be available throughout the summer months.

Interviews will be conducted for selected candidates March 9-11, and offers for the GRC position will begin in late-March and continue until the position(s) is filled.
