Students may enter research in any of the twelve categories described below (adapted from Intel ISEF category descriptions). Categories have been carefully selected to allow students to do research with the same breadth of topics as at the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair. There are many sub-categories within each category. Read the Intel ISEF category descriptions carefully and see what category best fits your research.
Carefully consider the following when you select your category: 1) What area of expertise is the most important for the judge looking at my research project to have? 2) What is the emphasis or primary focus of my research? 3) What is the most unique or important aspect of my research project?
