Matthew Shepard Memorial Goals

• Bring Laramie schools, businesses, community partners, city leaders and citizens together in planning a range of activities that honor Matthew Shepard’s memory and foster shared investment in furthering an inclusive and compassionate community and world.
  
  
• Share classroom and curriculum ideas with instructors who may be interested in teaching students about Matthew Shepard’s story and prompting reflection about diversity, inclusion, identity, and multiple forms of advocacy.
  
  
• Promote community and school resources for youth and/or adults who may benefit from counseling, information, and community-building around issues of social identity and diversity.
  
  
• Raise awareness of the crucial details of Matthew Shepard’s story as well as the testimony of the people and investigators closest to Matt’s case.
  
  
• Honor Matt’s legacy by emphasizing an understanding of social justice that is intersectional in terms of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, class, etc.
