The Great West Jean Monnet Chair is the first Jean Monnet Chair in the Front Range
/ Rocky Mountains region.
Its objectives are:
Create new EU-related teaching and innovative curricula which will help reach out
to higher education students who would otherwise not engage in EU studies.
Engage in public diplomacy and in outreach activities, foster dialogue between the
academic and society, including local and state level policymakers, civil servants,
civil society actors, representatives of the different levels of education and of
the media, generating knowledge about the EU and its role in the world in the Front
Range and Rocky Mountains area. This will be done by organizing events and conferences
on areas of interested to the regions.
Engage in research on the relations between the European Union and the Front Range
/ Rocky Mountains region. The research work will be presented at the most relevant
international conference and will be published as scholarly and general media articles,
as well as a book.
