Raffle Tickets on Sale for Bike, Painting

Staff Senate is selling raffle tickets for two prizes to be awarded at Staff Recognition Day on Thursday, April 25, at Crane-Hill Dining Hall.

The prizes are a Trek 820 mountain bike and a framed print, titled “Wood n’ Horse,” by Karen Cooper. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Tickets can be purchased for any UW staff senator or at the Staff Senate office, Wyoming Hall 225.

Staff Recognition Day Set for April 25

More than 275 employees will be honored Thursday, April 25, at Staff Recognition Day in the Crane-Hill Dining Hall. President Buchanan has granted two hours of release time to attend the two-hour event.

“Your Voice, UW’s Future” is the theme of the annual event that features door prizes, entertainment and a raffle for two prizes, as well as years of service recognition and staff awards. The announcement of the 2012 Employee of the Year, which is selected from among four quarterly winners, will be among the highlights of the event.

Sixty-three individuals who have worked at UW for at least 20 years will be honored. Additionally, more than $18,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to outstanding staff members.

The event begins at 10 a.m.

Updated Employee Handbook Available Online

The UW Employee Handbook, which applies to all benefited employees and also includes a section for non-benefited employees, has been updated to include changes mandated by federal law and updates to current UW business practice.
