- About UW
International Graduate Students can find cultural introductions, cohort friends, and language support through the English Language Center's International GA and TA support programs. Every semester we offer specialized Cultural Orientations and Teaching Workshops to help students acclimate to the community, to academic culture, and to their role as graduate assistants in their programs. All graduate students, in any major, seeking language skills and cultural support are welcome!
For advisers and recruiters, we offer Oral Language Proficiency screening and testing to make sure your candidates are ready for their GA and TA-ships in an American classroom. For students, there is a series of teacher-training workshops designed specifically to help students acclimate culturally to US education expectations, improve their intonation and presentation skills, and build support communities for their academic careers at UW.
