Part-Time Bus Driver

JOB PURPOSE:

UW Transit & Parking Services is seeking non-experienced and experienced CDL (Class A or B) drivers with a clean driving record interested in driving transit buses for the University of Wyoming Roundup Transit System for the Fall 2020 semester.

  • CDL training offered. Our Summer Training Course for this position, which will start on July 20, will equip you with a CDL in just 6 short weeks. 

  • *Please note: Effective July 1st, the new starting salary will be $13.68/hr after the CDL and corresponding trainings are completed. 

  • We have two shifts available, both AM and PM depending on preference and availability. General working hours range from 15 to 30 hours a week, but will vary depending on the availability of the applicant and the needs of the department.

  • APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ENTIRETY OF SHIFT 2-3 TIMES/WEEK (M-F)

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Safely Operate UW Transit Buses on UWYO Roundup Fixed-Routes.

  •  Perform Safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe parameters.

  •  Maintain inventory of First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen kits.

  •  Assist in assigned cleaning duties (Buses, Shop, Shelters, etc.)

  •  Orient and train new drivers as required

  •  Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, offer assistance and answer questions for passengers as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Transit Cleaning Attendant

JOB PURPOSE:

The Transit Cleaning Attendant is responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment that our passengers and staff can utilize in order to continue our operations in a safe manner. This includes assisting in the temporary removal of vehicles from route in order to undergo a thorough sterilization of all surfaces throughout the day. The Transit Cleaning Attendant will also be responsible for thorough inspections and sanitation of transit vehicles every night after regular service hours. Job duties include washing and sanitizing interior windows, seats, dashboards, walls, ceilings, floors, and other high touch areas. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the Transit fleet at various points during and after operating hours.

  • Coordinate sanitation with other attendants to ensure all buses undergo frequent cleaning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong Attention to Detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional time management skills

  • Intermediate computer skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred, with knowledge of proper chemical safety procedures.

  • Experience operating a variety of cleaning equipment such as upholstery cleaners, electrostatic sprayers, power washers, and other cleaning gear.

  • Experience mixing and diluting concentrated cleaning chemicals.

  • Knowledge of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.

Car Washer

JOB PURPOSE:

Clean and maintain Car Rental Vehicles. Hiring for Fall Position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check in with immediate supervisor each work day for any important information or duties.

  • Perform Pre and Post inspections for damages, rock chips, and broken windshields.
  • Fuel vehicles in the AM. Have ready for cleaning.

  • Have rental vehicles ready for customers on time. 

  • Prep vehicles including but not limited to: vacuum interior to remove loose dirt and debris, washing interior surfaces, washing exterior of the vehicle. 

  • Keep work area clean and free of hazards. Empty all trash containers daily. 

  • Perform basic maintenance check which includes but not limited to: fluids, damages, tire maintenance. 

  • Work with Office Associated on all upcoming rental vehicle schedule and/or changes.

  • Complete all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Some Sunday shifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  High School or Equivalent

Van Driver/Dispatcher

JOB PURPOSE: Perform the duties of Van Driver/Dispatcher on various Demand Response operational services.  These Demand Response services include Paratransit, SafeRide, and Laramie Link Dial - A - Ride. These van services pick up riders on an "on-call" basis. CDL license is not required for this position, but a clean driving record is.

  • Complete safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe operating parameters. Maintain inventory of equipment.

  • Dispatch vehicles/drivers and schedule rides.

  • Assist with shop and cleaning duties, maintain vehicle and office cleanliness.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, offer assistance and answer questions for passengers as required.

  • Orient and train new drivers and dispatchers as required.

  • Assist drivers in maintaining passenger safety and provide directions to drivers. 

    All other duties as assigned.

Parking Services Officer

Job Purpose: 

Hiring for Summer and Fall 2020 - Enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.

Transit & Parking Services is very flexible working with student schedules. Weekly hours can range anywhere from 10 - 28 hours. The normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Please note that this position requires occasional weekend and night work.  Position includes frequent pay scale reviews.
