LGB 101 is an ideal workshop for those just starting out. The primary focus of this session is on terminology and language, stereotypes that surround the LGBTQIA community, and effect socialization has had on us as individuals. This session is highly interactive and focused on reflection by the participants.

Gender Identity is a workshop explores some of the definitions regarding gender identity, gender expression, and sexuality, as well as various components of lived experiences from individuals who are gender minorities. In addition, this will help participants to understand how gender minorities have influenced LGBTQIA culture and American history.

Visible Ally is an interactive, activity-heavy workshop that will train participants to understand what it means to be an LGBTQIA ally and how to be an LGBTQIA ally. This training will also give participants a better understanding of heterosexual and cisgender privilege and how this relates to being an ally. Finally, this workshop will teach participants how to create a “safe zone” for members of the LGBTQIA community.

After completing all three of these workshops you will receive a placard of completion from Safe Zone.
