An Introduction to the COM Sequence

The USP communication sequence (COM1, COM2, and COM3) indicates UW’s commitment to promoting the communication skills of undergraduate students throughout the curriculum.  Ultimately, these courses help develop the intellectual and practical skills that are essential for students to live and work in a rapidly changing world and to be part of an informed citizenry.The links below are intended to provide both theoretical and logistical support for departments as they convert and develop courses to meet the outcomes for the new USP Communication designations.   • Communication Across the Curriculum.  This document provides some general goals and definitions of the central communication channels of the new USP sequence: oral, digital, and written.
