Why the UW College of Health Sciences?
Healthcare and the health professions are rapidly changing to meet the demands of today’s patients and clients. New models of affordable healthcare, the Patient Centered Medical Home concept, expanded roles for practitioners, electronic medical records, and telehealth are only a few of the new approaches provided through our programs. The UW College of Health Sciences is Wyoming’s gateway to the health professions. We offer entry level and graduate degrees and post-graduate training in Communication Disorders, Kinesiology and Health, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, and Dental Hygiene. The college also offers minors in health sciences, disability studies, and aging studies, which complement degrees in the health professions and other areas of study such as business, education, agriculture, psychology and the pre-health professions studies.

It is an exciting time to enter the health care profession with a degree from the UW College of Health Sciences. The state of Wyoming and the nation have had shortages of health care providers in the past and this is expected to continue. Students graduate from the College of Health Sciences ready to become practitioners in one of the many health professions.
Research and Volunteer Opportunities
Not only do we provide excellent education in the health professions, but we also have many exciting opportunities to conduct research and volunteer through our many national and international clubs, organizations and programs. Through our programs, such as Aspire!, we encourage, promote and nurture scholarship, leadership and professionalism so that our students learn the complex aspects of health care that will facilitate becoming an exceptional health care provider.
