H1N1 Update: Hand Sanitizers Available for Purchase, Distribution

October 12, 2009

Two-liter pump bottles of hand sanitizers are now available for distribution to high-traffic areas on the UW Laramie campus as part of a continuing effort to slow the spread of the H1N1 flu virus.

Campus units with high pedestrian traffic or large numbers of visitors can request bottles of sanitizer by calling the Environmental Health and Safety Office at 766-3277.

Additionally, UW has approved the purchase of personal-sized hand sanitizers and sanitary wipes with university funds. Departments can follow normal purchasing procedures to obtain the smaller sized products.

Motion-activated sanitizers have been ordered and will be distributed at high-traffic locations when they arrive.

UW urges faculty, staff and students to wash hands thoroughly and frequently, to cough or sneeze into a tissue or a sleeve, to stay home if not feeling well and to avoid close contact with sick people.

For more information, visit the H1N1 flu Web site that can be linked off the UW home page (www.uwyo.edu/H1N1).
