Syndicated Bloomberg news columnist Amity Shlaes will speak Monday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union Family Room.
A financial depression expert, Shlaes is the author of the New York Times best-selling book with the same name as her lecture, "The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression." The Wall Street Journal described her book as "one of the best books to read during a financial crisis."
Shlaes has written for The New Yorker, The Financial Times, National Review, Fortune and The Wall Street Journal, where she was an editorial board member.
She has spoken at corporations, financial institutions and universities about the economy and the historical perspective of the Great Depression.
