Faculty Concert Series Concludes With Cello Performance

Cello instructor Beth Vanderborgh will perform the final concert in this semester's UW music department Faculty Concert Series Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m.

The University of Wyoming Department of Music Faculty Concert Series will conclude for the semester Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center concert hall.

"Masterpieces for the Cello: Works by Beethoven, Debussy and Ravel" will feature faculty member Beth Vanderborgh on the cello, with Rubia Santos on piano and John Fadial on violin.

Tickets cost $7 for the public and $5 for students and seniors, and can be purchased through the Fine Arts Box Office by calling (307) 766-6666 or go online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Saturday's concert will be Vanderborgh's first solo recital since joining UW as a cello instructor in Fall 2008. Vanderborgh has served as principal cellist of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Winston-Salem Symphony, and is a founding member of the acclaimed Stanislas Sextet, based in Nancy, France. She has won top prizes in the Baltimore Chamber Awards, the National Society of Arts and Letters Cello Competition and the Ulrich Solo Competition.
