Good Mule Project Launches New Web site

November 13, 2009

The University of Wyoming student organization The Good Mule Project will launch its new Web site, www.thegoodmule.org, on Thursday, Nov. 19. A Web site tutorial will be at 4 p.m. in the College of Agriculture auditorium and the launch party--including pizza and a live band--will be at 7 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge.

The Good Mule Project was developed to provide ways for students to become locally involved with global issues such as sustainability, diversity and social justice.

"I think students can really be doing more for our communities," says Jenny Reese, executive director of the project. "No matter who you are or what your ideological background, change can happen if we just have the right tools to get the job done."

During the launch, members of the organization will demonstrate the different functions and resources available on the Web site, including an online forum, a listing of local free and reduced cost services and interviews with prominent faculty on related issues.

"We couldn't be happier with our progress so far," says Reese. "With this Web site, students are going to have more options than ever before to become active in issues that they really care about."

For more information on The Good Mule Project and the Web site launch, call the Center for Volunteer Services at (307) 766-3117, or e-mail the office at cvs@uwyo.edu.
