University of Wyoming Calendar for Week of Nov. 9

Baroque ensemble Rebel will perform Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the UW Fine Arts Center concert hall.

These are among the activities scheduled at the University of Wyoming during the week of Nov. 9-15.

Monday, Nov. 9, 4 p.m. -- Dolores Delgado Bernal will discuss "Community Engaged Scholarship with Latina/o Youth and Families: Crossing Educational, Community, and Discursive Borders" in the Wyoming Union East Ballroom. Free .

Tuesday, Nov. 10, 3:10-4:30 p.m. -- UW assistant professor of architectural engineering Anthony Denzer will discuss ""California's Postwar Suburban Cooperatives: Race, Design and the FHA" in Room 155 of the Wyoming History Building. Free, refreshments to follow.

Tuesday, Nov. 10, 9 p.m. -- The Athens Boys Choir will describe the transgendered experience through spoken word poetry, rap and question and answer sessions in the Wyoming Union ballroom. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7 p.m. -- The third episode of the PBS series "Art:21" will be screened at the Art Department's new gallery, Gallery 211, located at 211 S. 1st Street in downtown Laramie. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Jazz Ensemble II and Jazz Combos will perform in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 11, 8 p.m. -- New Orleans reggae/ska band Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes will perform in the Wyoming Union ballroom. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. -- Three women leaders will discuss their history, accomplishments and trials during "Shattering the Glass Ceiling: Stories of Successful Women" in the Wyoming Union East Ballroom. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Jazz Ensemble I and Vocal Jazz groups will perform in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.

Thursday, Nov. 12, 8 p.m. -- Acoustic bluegrass band The Matt Flinner Trio will perform in the College of Education auditorium. Free.

Friday, Nov. 13, 11:30 a.m. -- 1A state high school football championship game (Lingle vs. Southeast) will be played at War Memorial Stadium. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for youths (3-18) for all games.

Friday, Nov. 13, 2 p.m. -- 2A state high school football championship game (Glenrock vs. Thermopolis) will be played at War Memorial Stadium. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for youths (3-18) for all games.

Friday, Nov. 13, 4-9 p.m. -- The "On the Road to Distinction: Recognizing Women Leaders of Wyoming" conference will offer workshops, followed by the Women of Distinction dinner and award ceremony at the Hilton Garden Inn and UW Conference Center. Early registration fee for students is $5 or $10 the day of. Non-student early registration fee is $20 or $25 the day of the conference.

Saturday, Nov. 14, 1 p.m. -- 1A state 6-man high school football championship game (Guernsey vs. Kaycee) will be played at War Memorial Stadium. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for youths (3-18) for all games.

Saturday, Nov. 14, 3:30 p.m. -- 4A state high school football championship game (Cheyenne Central vs. Sheridan) will be played at War Memorial Stadium. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for youths (3-18) for all games.

Saturday, Nov. 14, 7:30 p.m. -- The Fresh Aire Trio will perform "M2M: Medieval to Modern" as part of the UW Faculty Recital Series in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $7 for the public and $5 for students and seniors, and can be purchased through the Fine Arts Box Office by calling (307) 766-6666 or visiting the Web site www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Sunday, Nov. 15, 2 p.m. -- The final round of the competition for the Snowy Range Piano Competition will be held in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.
