UW to Host Conference on Dominant Estate Nov. 6

November 2, 2009

A one-day conference at the University of Wyoming Friday, Nov. 6, will examine new developments in resolving conflicts between landowners and mineral rights holders.

"State of Dominant Estate," sponsored by the Rural Law Center, the School of Energy Resources and the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute, will be of particular interest to project management teams in the oil and gas, mining and wind energy industries, says Dennis Stickley, visiting professor of law at UW.

Individual speakers will cover a range of topics, including management of state of federal lands, project planning and development and advising clients.

The conference, free and open to the public, will be from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the UW College of Law Building. For registration information, go to the Web site at www.uwyo.edu/law or www.uwyo.edu/SER. Lunch will be provided to attendees who register in advance and continuing legal education credit is available.
