David Gruen, director of student financial aid at the University of Wyoming, has been appointed to the Student Financial Aid Advisory Committee -- a national organization that provides expertise on student aid to Congress and the secretary of education.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., recently appointed Gruen to the committee, who was recommended for the position by Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi.
"Dave has the experience working with and in rural states and he can use that expertise on a national level as financial aid issues are discussed," Enzi says. "His past 37 years of financial aid experience are impressive and I look forward to working with him to ensure students have access to financial resources to higher education."
Gruen has been at UW six years and is on the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators board of directors. He also has served as the Rocky Mountain and Wyoming Associations of Student Financial Aid Administrators president.
