Laramie Flooding Update from Albany County Public Health

June 14, 2010

Areas of Laramie are reporting record-breaking floodwaters. Most of the damage is occurring along Spruce Street and the Greenbelt Trail near Optimist Park.

City officials ask that people stay away from the flooded areas. Response crews are working to limit damage caused by these waters. Information will be available once these areas are safe to enter.

City officials are requesting volunteers to help with sandbagging at this time. Volunteers are requested to report to Park and Spruce streets or Lewis and Cedar streets for sandbagging operations. Volunteers are requested to bring work gloves, sturdy boots and shovels.
