Businesses, community organizations, campus groups and individuals are invited to create decorative trees for the University of Wyoming Art Museum's 18th annual Festival of Trees and silent auction, Thursday, Dec. 2.

Decorating is Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 1-5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The silent auction begins at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, during the tree lighting ceremony and ends at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, during Happy Holidays, Laramie!

"This fun and creative community event is a great way for families and community organizations to start the holiday season," says Shantana Judkins, UW Art Museum publicist. "Each tree uniquely represents the group that decorates it. Each year, more than 30 trees, wreathes and other decorative items are beautifully displayed and placed for silent auction. All proceeds from this holiday auction benefit Art Museum programs, including scholarships and art activities for all ages."

A confirmation packet with complete details will be mailed to participants who sign up to decorate a tree upon receipt of registration.
