Wyoming Education Council Seeks Nominations

November 29, 2010

The Wyoming P-16 Education Council seeks nominations to fill four new board director positions, including two for faculty members representing two-year and four-year postsecondary institutions.

The council is a non-profit organization that encourages and guides the development of a seamless statewide system of education in which all levels -- preschool through postsecondary -- coordinate, communicate and educate as one system rather than several. Like similar councils in other states, the council's goal is to prepare all students to successfully transition into postsecondary study or the workplace.

Council members include University of Wyoming and also business sector representatives. The governor, state superintendent of public instruction, Department of Workforce Services and the Wyoming Education Association also name appointees.

Individuals interested in nominating themselves or others can obtain forms found on the council's Web site at www.wp-16.org. For more information, e-mail p-16wyo@live.com or call Kelley Pelissier, council executive director, at (307) 340-2431.
