Tri Delta Helps Kids by Serving Pancakes Nov. 5

October 28, 2011

The University of Wyoming's Delta Delta Delta sorority's annual pancake breakfast to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will be held starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 through 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Tri Delta House, 1616 Sorority Row.

All-you-can-eat pancakes will cost $5, with all of the proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Entertainment includes live performances and an assortment of games and contests.

"St. Jude is incredibly grateful for the work that Tri Delta does for its organization. When we were at the hospital, several people told us that St. Jude would not be able offer the services it currently provides without our support," says Meghan Kolf, UW Tri Delta philanthropy chair.

"The best way to realize the impact Tri Delta has made is to see the children there whisper, ‘The triangles are here' when a group of Tri Deltas, wearing their letters, enters the hospital," she says. "Even they know that ‘the triangles' are something special to the hospital."

Tri Delta chapters nationwide host pancake breakfasts to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Last year the Tri Delta organization exceeded its goal of raising $10 million in 10 years by raising it in four years, so the leaders established a new goal of raising $15 million in five years. Within the hospital, Tri Delta has funded a breezeway and a specialty clinic called the C-Clinic.
