Ron Cunningham
A Fremont County educator has been recognized by the Wyoming Association of County Agriculture Agents for his leadership in extension efforts in the county and across the state.
Ron Cunningham, a 34-year employee of University of Wyoming Extension, received the association's Outstanding Extension Educator Award. The award recognizes excellence in extension programs, leadership, use of innovative educational methods and mentoring new extension employees. He is based in Lander, but also serves Big Horn, Hot Springs, Park and Washakie counties and the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Cunningham coordinates the annual Fremont County Farm and Ranch Days in Riverton, but also handled duties for the WESTI Ag Days in Worland last year. His work with the Wyoming Stock Growers Association and Wyoming Wool Growers Association helped shepherd the profitability conference from a wool growers' exclusive event to the Progressive Ranch Forum, a joint venture with the stock growers.
He also has hosted and taught at Wyoming Master Cattleman Programs in Lander, Riverton and Ten Sleep in addition to many other programs.
Cunningham began with UW extension in 1977 following graduation from UW.
