Beverly Sanchez, Army ROTC office associate, is the University of Wyoming's Outstanding Staff Employee of the Fourth Quarter.
The award recognizes UW staff members for their efforts toward excellence in the workplace.
"She has spent her own time teaching and helping new office associates in other departments learn the processes needed to do well in their jobs and keep the department out of trouble. She doesn't look for praise or awards, she simply works to make the workplace for everyone better," according to one nominator.
Another wrote, "She is consistently able to complete required work with a minimum of oversight or input. She is a self-starter and extremely motivated. Her contacts within the university system have been essential to the success of our department and its ability to be consistently rated in the top 10 programs across the nation."
Sanchez began working at UW's Student Financial Operations in 1997, and also worked for Water Resources Data Systems and the Beta House before joining Army ROTC in 2006.She says she enjoys working with the cadets.
"They are dedicated, hard working students who not only have a lot to accomplish for Army ROTC but have to maintain their grades for their fields of study," she says. "Any way I can help them to accomplish their goals makes me happy to come to work."
Employee of the Quarter nominees can be any UW staff employee and must receive three nomination forms from three separate individuals. Nominations must be submitted to the Staff Senate office. The forms are on the web at www.uwyo.edu/StaffSenate/EOQ.asp.
