The Second City Improv Brings Laughs to UW

The Second City Improv Company performs a free show Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the University of Wyoming Arts and Sciences auditorium.

The Second City Improv Company will perform a free show at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the University of Wyoming Arts and Sciences auditorium.

Well known for its uproarious comedic performances, the Chicago-based Second City Improv Company is best known as the training ground for famous comedians including John Belushi, Mike Myers, Tina Fey and Steve Carell who have performed on the "Saturday Night Live" stage.

"Second City has performed at UW the past few years and has always been a big hit," says Anna Rader, Student Activities Council lead student programmer. "Not only are they really funny, but their humor resonates really well with college students."

Second City has expanded its schools to include Chicago, Los Angeles and Toronto since its creation in 1959. It is currently the world's largest training center for improvisation acting and sketch comedy.
