Student Stand

February 16, 2012

The University of Wyoming Stands Up competition will provide a night of comedic relief Wednesday, Feb. 29, at 8 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Gardens.

The competition will consist of each participant performing their best three-minute stand-up act for the audience before a panel of judges. Those wishing to compete can sign up in the Campus Activities Center in the Wyoming Union. Spaces are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. This competition is for mature audiences only.

"I'm always surprised at how many students have comedic talent," says Anna Rader, Student Activities Council lead student programmer. "This is a great opportunity to give students a chance to perform in a club-like setting and wow us."

The top two winners of UW Stands Up will be awarded with the opportunity to open for YouTube comedians Barats and Bereta March 7.

This event is sponsored by the Student Activities Council. Individuals needing assistance to attend this event may call (307) 766-6340. For more information, visit www.uwyo.edu/sac.
