UW Trustees Approve Personnel Items

The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees approved the following appointments during its March meeting Friday.

Administrative Appointments

Student Affairs -- Keith Evashevski as director of the University Counseling Center. He received his B.A. in psychology from the University of Dallas, and an M.A. (1995) and a Ph.D. (1998) in clinical psychology from Georgia School of Professional Psychology.

President's Office

Governmental and Community Affairs -- Don Richards as vice president. He has served as the director of Governmental and Community Affairs since his appointment to the position in January 2010.

Faculty Appointments

American Heritage Center -- Emily J. Christopherson as assistant archivist. She received her B.S. (2005) in education and an M.A. (2010) in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

College of Agriculture and Natural Resources

Department of Plant Sciences -- Sadanand Dhekney as assistant professor. He received his B.S. (1997) in agriculture from Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, an M.S. (1999) in horticulture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and a Ph.D. (2004) in horticulture from the University of Florida.

College of Arts and Sciences

Department of Geology and Geophysics -- Brandon J. McElroy as assistant professor. He received his B.S. (2000) in geological sciences and M.S. (2002) in geological sciences from the University of Michigan and a Ph.D. (2009) in geological sciences from the University of Texas.

University Libraries

Marcia L. Butler as assistant librarian. She received her B.A. (1987) in studio art from Wells College, an M.F.A. (1993) in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design and an M.S. (1996) in information science from the University of Tennessee.

Academic Professionals Appointment

American Studies Program -- Andrea M. Graham as assistant research scientist. She earned her B.A. (1978) in anthropology and an M.A. (1980) in folklore and folklife from the University of Pennsylvania.

Changes in Appointments

College of Education

Department of Secondary Education -- Linda S. Hutchison as associate professor, ending term as department head. Leslie S. Rush named department head.

University Libraries

Information Services -- Cheryl E. Goldenstein as interim division head.
