A reception for the University of Wyoming's Department of Art's inaugural group Bachelor of Fine Art exhibition, "BFA 2012," is set for Friday, May 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the new Visual Arts Gallery. The exhibition is scheduled to run through May 15.

Located at the corner of 22nd Street and Willett Drive, the Visual Arts Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Outstanding students -- preparing for art studies, careers and professional activity beyond the undergraduate level -- participate in the art department's B.F.A. degree program.

This year's exhibition will consist of work by 13 of the senior B.F.A. students. They are:  Madison Becker, Beth Cochran, Tessa Dallarosa, Alethea Durney, Jacquie Fankell, Kelsey Giroux, Courtney Googe, Jennifer Heater, Dakotah Konicek, Evan Major, Nash Quinn, Kari Siler and Kaitlyn Whitlock.

The students' work ranges from printmaking, painting and sculpture to metalsmithing, ceramics, textiles and animation.
