University of Wyoming Information Technology will host 12 hours of game tournaments and prizes during the spring LAN (video game) party, Friday, April 13, at 6 p.m. until Saturday, April 14, at 6 a.m., in the Information Technology Building atrium.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment or play on one of the 22 UW Student Lab computers that are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Temporary Steam accounts for each machine will be available to allow users to play for free. Starcraft 2 users will need to have their own free starter accounts.
The following games will be on the 22 lab computers: Counter Strike Source; Team Fortress 2; Counter Strike, Day of Defeat; Day of Defeat: Source; Deathmatch Classic; Half-Life; Half-Life Deathmatch; Half-Life 2; Half-Life 2 Deathmatch; Half-Life: Source; Ricochet; Team Fortress Classic; and Starcraft 2.
More hosted tournaments for other games may be available depending upon the demand.
