ASUW Special Projects Fund Application Deadline is Oct. 12

October 9, 2012

University of Wyoming students, faculty and registered student organizations have an opportunity to be granted $75,000 for any projects or ideas they think will benefit the student body.

The Associated Students of the University of Wyoming’s Special Projects Fund offers the funding to help beautify and enrich UW’s campus. Applications for the funding are available at the ASUW office in the Wyoming Union or on its website (www.uwyo.edu/asuw).  All applications must be turned in by Friday, Oct. 12, at 5 p.m.

“The Special Projects Fund serves as a benefit to all university students. All funding for this grant is provided through student fees, which makes it even more relevant to the students,” says ASUW Director of Finance Chris Haakinson. “Having $75,000 put toward an idea is a truly remarkable opportunity for students or other members of the UW community to bring changes they’d like to see on campus.”

The finance policy guidelines specify that each project idea must have a long-lasting benefit to UW’s campus, be a one-time request and benefit a large population of students. The project cannot fund research, salaries or classroom projects.  In addition, it cannot fund general operating expenses or travel conference expenses. Funds must be spent in the current fiscal year and requests must not exceed $75,000.
