McNair Scholars Program Offers Research Internship Scholarships

The University of Wyoming McNair Scholarship Program is accepting applications for entry into the program.

During the 2013 summer session, students can receive up to $3,400 in stipends for research projects in several disciplines including arts and sciences, humanities, social sciences and STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields.

To be eligible, the students must be either first-generation college students, limited-income undergraduates, or a member of an ethnic group that is typically underrepresented in graduate education. These include African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, Native Hawaiians and Native American Pacific Islanders. The students can be any year in school, but cannot be graduating before May 2013. Applicants must also show a desire to obtain a Ph.D. and meet grade requirements.
