Kenneth F. Witzeling of Powell was honored as the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy’s 2012 outstanding alumnus.

Witzeling, who received a bachelor of science in pharmacy degree at UW in 1951, is president of the Powell Mercantile Board of Directors and a member of the School of Pharmacy Advisory Committee.

"Ken has not only served pharmacy, but he has served his community by being a caring pharmacist and owner of Skyline Drug in Powell, and he has been a community supporter in many ways,” says School of Pharmacy Dean John Vandel. “He served as a leader in forming a community corporation in Powell that founded a community clothing store owned by the citizens of Powell who own the stock in the corporation.”

Witzeling is a past president of the Wyoming Pharmacy Association and served 12 years on the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy, including two terms as president. While at UW, Witzeling was a member of Phi Delta Chi-Alpha Nu Chapter (honorary), Lambda Chi Alpha and Gamma Sigma Epsilon (chemistry honorary). He and his wife, Elizabeth (Betty), have two children, David and Todd, both UW graduates.
