The annual Spooky Sprint canned food drive will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the University of Wyoming Union in time to kick off the Wyoming football game against Boise State.
Participants will be put in groups, given a shopping cart and assigned an area of Laramie in which they will collect the bags of canned goods donated by generous households in the community. Bags and notes will be distributed before the day of the Spooky Sprint so the bags of donated items will be ready to be picked up at front doors.
Costumes are not necessary, but are encouraged since this event is close to Halloween. Prizes will be given for most items collected and for best costume. A kickoff to the football game will include pizza and beverages for participants and volunteers.
Donations will be given to SAFE Project of Laramie, Interfaith Good Samaritan and The Soup Kitchen. Donations will be accepted in the Wyoming Union from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 27.
