David Leibowitz, founder and director of the New York Repertory Orchestra, will be
the guest conductor for the “London Symphony” concert.
Guest conductor David Leibowitz will lead the University of Wyoming Symphony Orchestra through Vaughan’s Williams’ “London Symphony” Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts concert hall.

“A peerless performance. Maestro Leibowitz got it right: strings, winds and imagination soared … The conductor’s conception of the piece was imaginative and impressive,” writes the Journal of the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society.
Leibowitz is the music director and founder of the New York Repertory Orchestra. Recently, he has conducted a fully staged production of Mozart’s “Abduction from the Seraglio” and a landmark performance of Mahler’s epic “Symphony No. 3.”
“London Symphony” is Williams’ most popular piece, a powerful work with massive sonorities and English folk melodies.
Blake McGee will be the clarinet soloist for this concert, playing two shorter works by Rossini and Debussy.
